Contained within the covers of a hand crafted portfolio, your land’s beauty is expressed through a series of sensitively seen black and white photographic prints reproduced using the modern digital process of giclee printing. Your personal connection with your land is gathered in the oral history tradition, and is then elegantly printed using the historical method of letterpress printing.

  When combining the finely crafted, archival processes of giclee and letterpress printing with bookmaking materials of archival quality, you not only create a portfolio of your land’s beauty and your personal relationship with it, you also create a family heirloom that will be passed from generation to generation.

  It is my hope that your YourLand Portrait portfolio project will be a life enriching experience for you. My heart felt wish is that as you engage in the creation of your YourLand Portrait portfolio, your personal connections of appreciation and love for your land will be stirred and allowed to remain more present within your heart.

 

 

Some variations on the above portfolio theme include:

• A collaboration between myself, as the photographer, and a nature writer. Where each of us express our personal responses and relationship to your nature preserve or land trust.
• A collaboration between myself, as the photographer, and a nature writer. Where the writer produces a written cultural and natural history of your land.
• A series of original black and white silver gelatin prints, matted and placed within a clamshell portfolio box accompanied by either a title page and / or extended writings.
• Texts printed digitally not letterpress.
